As a junior on the basketball team, Andrew Baxter was aware that he was not going to play much at all so he resolved that he wanted to be the best possible teammate on the basketball bench. He encouraged the whole bench to completely support the players and be cheerleaders on their behalf. He encouraged all the bench to "go crazy" for the guys playing. It made a big change in the team spirit and most likely contributed to the fact that the basketball team made it to the basketball playoffs for the first time in a long time.

Brennan Baxter, Andrew Baxter’s older brother, was a successful basketball player. Steve enjoyed Brennan’s success just as well and has had many enjoyable moments watching both of his sons’ successes on and off the Pearce High School basketball court.
Andrew Baxter embraces the new challenges of college . He loves meeting class mates from other states. But primarily he enjoys the fulfilling Christian experience of being involved in Brothers Under Christ - a unique organization of Christians at Texas Tech who choose to expand their faith as they progress through college.
